Harvard Main Street is a nonprofit organization and we rely on volunteers and donations for success!

Please consider volunteering to help at one of our events, on a committee or our Board, or in our office. Even an hour makes a big difference!

Areas of Need The Promotion Committee creates and markets a positive image of downtown through special events, retail promotions, and effective advertising and public relations. Volunteers on this committee can help plan events; work on developing marketing or special promotion plans; or volunteer at events.
Working on a Committee:
	Promotion	Organization The Organization Committee works to build consensus and cooperation among all groups who have a role in the revitalization process. They also work to market the Harvard Main Street organization. Volunteers on the Organization Committee can help develop and distribute the newsletter, work on the HMS website, or assist in the office with other projects.
	Design The Design Committee encourages quality building rehabilitation, signage, public improvements, and window displays to improve the downtown appearance. Volunteers on the Design Committee can help with historic preservation initiatives or help with design renderings.	Economic Restructuring
Board of Directors The Board of Directors oversees the programs and projects of Harvard Main Street. All Board of Director appointments are voted on by Harvard Main Street members. Generally we prefer people volunteer on one of the committees for one year before applying to the Board of Directors, however, this can be waived based on prior experience and knowledge. This is reviewed on a case by case basis.

		Spring Clean-Up The Economic Restructuring Committee improves the economic base of the downtown by strengthening existing businesses, recruiting new businesses, and finding creative uses for empty store fronts. Volunteers on the Economic Restructuring Committee will help develop and operate a campaign to recruit new businesses; help develop and present instructional seminars and other informative literature for existing businesses; and use HMS resources to otherwise help downtown Harvard businesses.
